This year July 11, 2012 marks International Raw Food Day! So what the heck does that mean anyway? As you may all know I am new to this, and am about 4 months into my raw food, raw living experience. I discovered there is a day dedicated to sharing the raw food love throughout the world. The event was started by Karen Knowler, to raise awareness of the health benefits of a raw food diet. It is about going outside of your comfort zone to eat whole, raw meals for 24 hours..heck even make it one meal out of the day or half a day, just to get you started.
Eating raw food has given me so much more than just energy, and it’s not just the food that does it for me…it’s the fact that I am making conscious decision about the food I put in my body to build the cells that make me either sick or healthy. It’s about being conscious, and aware that every one of us make choices every day for our good health or disease.
This year, I am celebrating International Raw Food Day, and I aim to celebrate it every year! My goal is to increase awareness in my community about what eating healthy, living food can do for your health and the health of your children. So join me in celebrating, by either sharing your experiences online by posting a comment on this blog, on Facebook, or if you are close enough to join my celebration and Raw Food Potluck please do so!
Over the next few days I will be posting recipe ideas, menu plans and just some inspiration to get you started. If you wish to see something specific please just let me know by making a comment below…I will see it and respond to you.
Yours in good health,
